Evolutionary biologist J B S Haldane is often quoted as saying that if a creator exists they must have an inordinate fondness for beetles. There are over 400,000 described species of beetle so you can see his point.

This design features some favourite beetles in the style of a Quaker sampler.

The model is stitched on 32 count Elixir by XJu Designs in Gentle Arts Blackboard floss, but would work in whatever colourway you fancy.

I’d suggest 3 skeins of your chosen floss to complete the design on 14/16 count aida or 28/32 count linen or evenweave
